Complaint

A doctor complained to us that his request for access to his personal information made to a professional organization went unheeded. The complainant was supposed to have been the subject of a talk at a conference by a member of the organization (he had been involved in a court case which was to be discussed). He wanted access to the information that would have been available at this presentation.

Outcome

We confirmed with the organization that no one had acted on his request; however, we also learned that the presentation was never given and so the organization did not have any information relating to the doctor. The complainant stated that no further action was necessary, and the file was considered early resolved.
