CURRENT ROLE(S)

  • Chair of the of the Special Committee to Review the Personal Information Protection Act;
  • Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors Services and Long Term Care.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Prior to her election as MLA, Ms. Elmore worked as a transit operator for 10 years. Over that time she played an active role within her union – Canadian Auto Workers Local 111 – and led successful campaigns as a transit advocate.
  • Ms. Elmore attended the University of British Columbia.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • Ms. Elmore previously served as the Official Opposition spokesperson for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), and the deputy spokesperson for Finance.
  • Ms. Elmore has been an active member in the peace movement, and has worked tirelessly on a wide range of immigrant, social justice, and workers' rights issues.

CURRENT ROLE(S)

  • Deputy Chair of the of the Special Committee to Review the Personal Information Protection Act;
  • Official Opposition critic for Municipal Affairs.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Before being elected as an MLA, Mr. Ashton served two terms as Mayor of the City of Penticton following three consecutive terms as a councillor. He served ten terms as Chair of the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen, and spent four years as a trustee on the Municipal Finance Authority.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • From 2014 to 2017, Mr. Ashton was the Premier's representative to the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER).
  • Previously, Mr. Ashton was the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister Responsible for Core Review, and the Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation critic.
  • He has also served as the Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services, was a member of Treasury Board and was the vice-chair of the Cabinet Working Group on Core Review.

  • Government Whip.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Mr. Begg was a career RCMP Officer serving in various locations and undertaking a wide variety of duties for over 38 years, the last eight in Surrey, where he was a District Commander, Watch Commander, and Operations Support Officer.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • Mr. Begg’s years of service and involvement in Surrey left him with a deep understanding of the issues facing the community and he entered politics as a means of continuing his public service.

  • Member of the of the Special Committee to Review the Personal Information Protection Act;
  • Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts; and
  • Member of the Special Committee on Reforming the Police Act.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Mr. Glumac graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering. Rick has worked in a variety of hi-tech industries, from animation on major films like Shrek 2 and Madagascar, to developing mobile apps for Fortune 500 companies.
  • From 2011 to 2017, Mr. Glumac served as a city councillor for the city of Port Moody and has chaired the city's Economic Development Committee.
  • He served as Vice President of the Lower Mainland Local Government Association and was elected as Vancouver Metro Area Representative at the Union of BC Municipalities. He has also served on the Fraser Health Municipal Government Advisory Council.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • Mr. Glumac is the Convener of the Special Committee to Review the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (42nd Parliament, 1st Session).
  • Mr. Glumac was previously Parliamentary Secretary for Technology. Rick was appointed by the Premier to be B.C.'s representative to the Pacific Northwest Economic Region, as well as Liaison for the State of Washington.
  • Given his background, Mr. Glumac understands first-hand the value of supporting BC's vibrant tech sector.

  • Member of the of the Special Committee to Review the Personal Information Protection Act;
  • Parliamentary Secretary for Environment.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Previously, Ms. Greene was elected to Richmond City Council in 2018. On council, she worked to preserve Richmond's farmland and protect the local environment. Ms. Greene co-founded an advocacy group to keep Richmond's public schools open, funded, and safe, and was successful in achieving those goals.
  • Ms. Greene has also worked for multinational banking and accounting firms, as well as leading small businesses in Richmond.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • Ms. Greene grew up in Steveston and now lives in the area with her family.

  • Member of the of the Special Committee to Review the Personal Information Protection Act;
  • Member of the Special Committee on Reforming the Police Act, and the Special Committee to Review Provisions of the Election Act.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Mr. Olsen is a former two-term Central Saanich Councillor and small business owner. He was born and raised on Tsartlip First Nation in Brentwood Bay and is a member of the Tsartlip First Nation.
  • He served as the Chair of Planning and Development and Water & Wastewater and represented the community on a number of boards and commissions including solid and liquid waste, Greater Victoria Public Library and the Regional Housing Trust Fund.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • Mr. Olson has led community efforts to protect and improve the Salish Sea and the Saanich Inlet.

PRIOR TO ELECTION:

  • Prior to his election as MLA, Mr. Wilkinson worked as a lawyer in the Vancouver offices of a major national law firm. Prior to being called to the bar, Wilkinson was educated and licensed as a physician.
  • Mr. Wilkinson lived and worked as a doctor in Campbell River, Lillooet, and Dease Lake. He holds degrees from the University of Alberta, Dalhousie University, and Oxford University, where he attended as a Rhodes Scholar.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

  • Mr. Wilkinson previously served as the Leader of the Official Opposition, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Minister of Advanced Education, and Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens' Services.
  • He is a former deputy minister of the British Columbia Ministry of Economic Development, where he had responsibility for economic issues, trade and tourism. He also served as deputy minister for Intergovernmental Relations in the Premier's Office for two years.
  • He has also served as president of the BC Civil Liberties Association, president of the BC Mountaineering Club, and president of the BC Liberal Party.
