Privacy Commissioner of Canada appears before Alberta Standing Committee reviewing the Personal Information Protection Act

The Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Philippe Dufresne, appeared today before the Alberta Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship on its review of the province’s Personal Information Protection Act.

In his remarks, Commissioner Dufresne spoke about the value of having interoperable privacy laws, and shared information about his key recommendations for amendments to Bill C-27, the federal Digital Charter Implementation Act, 2022, which would replace the current federal private-sector privacy law if passed.
