Privacy Commissioner to appear before Senate committee on Budget Implementation Act

The Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Philippe Dufresne, will appear before the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy as part of its pre-study of Bill C-69, the Budget Implementation Act, which includes new information-sharing provisions for reporting entities under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, as well as consequential amendments to Canada’s federal private-sector privacy law.
