Privacy Commissioner appears before Standing Committee on National Defence

The Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Philippe Dufresne, appeared before the Standing Committee on National Defence (NDDN) to speak to its study of transparency within the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces.

In his remarks, Commissioner Dufresne discussed his Office’s role in overseeing compliance with the Privacy Act, and investigating complaints by those who have been refused access to personal information that is held by federal institutions.
