Joint statement on privacy and democratic rights to mark Human Rights Day

To celebrate Human Rights Day 2023 and the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne joined global counterparts in issuing a joint statement on privacy and democratic rights.
Commissioner Dufresne signed the statement on behalf of the 30 members of the Global Privacy Assembly’s Data Protection and other Rights and Freedoms Working Group, along with Dr. Ana Brian Nougrères, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy.
Human Rights Day takes place each year on December 10.
