‘Back to basics’ is the 2023 Privacy Awareness Week theme

Privacy Awareness Week is a global effort held in May, coordinated by members of the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA), to promote awareness of privacy issues and the importance of the protection of personal information. Each year, various members of APPA develop resources and materials to support their activities during Privacy Awareness Week.

This year’s theme is Back to basics: Privacy foundations, and the Canadian awareness campaign will run from May 1 to 5.

The OPC has developed a videoconference background available for download on the campaign page, along with other resources. We encourage everybody to help increase awareness about the need to learn and understand privacy fundamentals.
