Commissioner submits brief at request of Special Joint Committee on the Declaration of Emergency

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) has provided the Joint Chairs of the Special Joint Committee on the Declaration of Emergency with an overview of the principles that government institutions should adhere to during an emergency to ensure that privacy rights are respected.

The brief also outlines issues the OPC is examining in the context of files related to the disruptions, blockades and occupation that took place in February 2022.
