OPC has new tips to help Canadians fight fraud
March is Fraud Prevention Month across Canada, and the best way to protect yourself against fraud is to be able to spot it and know how to avoid it. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) has developed advice that explains various types of fraud and offers tips to prevent it.
Take some time to learn how to better protect yourself:
- Deceptive and manipulative: Social engineering techniques
- Proceed with caution: Avoid malicious software
- Be diligent when dealing with spam
Fraud Prevention Month is an annual campaign to help Canadians recognize, reject and report fraud. The OPC is one of more than 60 participating organizations.
