Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada co-hosting 48th forum of the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities

On November 16 and 17, 2017, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) will be co-hosting the 48th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum in Vancouver, in collaboration with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. APPA holds two meetings annually to exchange ideas and best practices about privacy regulation, new technologies and ways to raise awareness of privacy issues.

A pre-forum kick-off event will take place on November 15, showcasing the OPC’s Contributions Program. A widely-respected and pioneering privacy research funding initiative, the Contributions Program supports independent, non-profit research that generate new ideas, approaches, and knowledge about privacy that organizations can apply in order to better safeguard personal information and that individuals can use to make more informed decisions.
