Commissioner shares views on Bill C-22 with Parliament

Today, Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Daniel Therrien, appeared before the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security (SECU) discuss Bill C-22, An Act to Establish the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians.

In his opening remarks he indicated the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is supportive of parliamentary oversight for security and intelligence activities and proposed some amendments for consideration to ensure the new committee will be as effective as possible.
