Commissioner shares views on Privacy Act reform with Parliament

Today, Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Daniel Therrien, appeared before the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics to provide further input for the Committee’s study of the Privacy Act.

His opening remarks focused on the importance of legislative reform and outlined his revised recommendations to amend the Act under three themes: legal modernization, technological innovation and need for transparency.
