Office of the Privacy Commissioner funds privacy research video series

As part of its Contributions Program, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) has granted Option consommateurs funding for the production of a series of videos.

Titled “A Moment of Privacy,” this series is meant to provide the general public with an overview of some of the privacy research projects conducted with the support of the OPC Contributions Program. Each video will give featured researchers the opportunity to explain, in simple terms, some of the results of their research.

With these videos, Option consommateurs aims to provide informative content in a dynamic and engaging format. The videos will be published online on popular video-sharing sites and will be promoted on social media.

Funding for this project is granted under the Contributions Program’s Pathways to Privacy initiative, which was created to help increase awareness of the outcomes of privacy research and promote knowledge translation projects. Option consommateurs’ proposal was selected through a process initiated in June 2015 with the issuance of a call for proposals. Submitted proposals were evaluated by a selection committee composed of OPC representatives and external examiners. For more information on the Contributions Program, visit the OPC website.

Option consommateurs is a not-for-profit organization devoted to advocating and promoting the rights and interests of consumers.
