72nd meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology

The 72nd meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology (also known as the Berlin Group) was co-hosted by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and Germany’s Federal Commission for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. The meeting was held in conjunction to the International Symposium on Privacy and Generative AI from December 7 and 8, 2023.

Founded in 1983, it is chaired by Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information and is composed of international experts from different sectors. The group meets twice a year to stay ahead of technological trends and to foster the exchange of expertise among its members.
