Commissioner shares his views on the study of Privacy of Digital Government Services

Today, Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Daniel Therrien, appeared before the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics (ETHI) on the study of the privacy implications and potential legal barriers relating to the implementation of digital government services in Canada, in order to assist the committee in making recommendations on how the government could improve its services while also protecting Canadians’ privacy and security.

In his remarks he noted that we need to refresh our approach on sharing data.
