PPT Cover of the Youth Presentation Package - Grades 7 and 8

What will you find in this package?

1. A PowerPoint Presentation (This is a large file and may take a few minutes to download depending on your connection speed. This presentation is best viewed on the big screen and not in printed form.): This presentation has been designed to appeal to young people in Grades 7 and 8 (Secondary I and II in Quebec). It’s packed with helpful information and examples.

2. Speaking Notes (PDF): The speaking notes are numbered to match the PowerPoint slides. There are class discussion topics that follow some of the slides. Everything is presented in a chronological order so it is easy to follow.

3. A chance to provide your feedback: Please give us your feedback at jeunes-youth@priv.gc.ca and let us learn from your experiences so that we can continue to improve the tool.

A note about the slide on sexting (slide 15)

We have included a slide on the issue of sexting in this presentation because it’s a topic we’re often asked about, when it comes to the privacy implications. That said, before using this presentation in full, we recommend that you consider whether the topic is appropriate for your specific audience. If you feel that it is not appropriate, we encourage you to simply remove slide 15 from both the PowerPoint presentation and the speaking notes. We can also make this change and send it to you, upon request, to: jeunes-youth@priv.gc.ca.

How can you get involved?

We want you to take this presentation and make it your own. You can present this material in schools, to young people you invite to your local library, to youth groups, or simply to your own kids and their friends.

How long is the presentation?

The presentation takes roughly 20 minutes to deliver, but can take longer if you allow time for the class discussion topics.

Vie privée or Privacy?

Everything is available in French and English!

What if you need help or have questions?

Public education officers at our Office will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. You can contact them at jeunes-youth@priv.gc.ca.
